You put WHAT on your lips??
In a long search to soothe my dry chapped lips during the winter, I felt like I tried just about everything. Without fail I would wake up with dry cracking lips (attractive right??) and would then spend the day trying to fix them. This obviously meant liquid lipsticks were out of the question.
After watching the beloved Tati (aka Glam Life Guru) she discussed her love for a lip treatment/mask called LanoLips 101 Ointment. Of course, I went directly to buy it online.. but then realized that although it wasn’t crazy expensive ($16.95 for .52 oz), it only contained one ingredient- lanolin. I wonder where they got the name of their product from…. Any-hoo, I did a quick search on good ol’ amazon to find you can purchase straight organic lanolin from dozens of places for a fraction of the price. And what did I quickly learn is the main use for lanolin…nipple cream. Yes, it’s meant for your nips, not your lips. See what I did there.
Later in the evening I happened to be at the grocery store and thought hmm let me just wander to the baby aisle to look for some nipple cream, as one does, and low and behold- 100% Natural Preservative Free Lanolin, 1.41 oz for only $9.99. Boom.
Now I’m not saying this brand is the end of be all by any means- but this just proves how easily accessible this product is and how cheap it can be. Oh- and did I mention IT WORKS. And you only really need a small amount to coat your lips prior to bed or anytime throughout the day. It is veeeery thick, but by the time I wake up, my lips have absorbed all the goodness and feel ready to go. One thing that can be a pro or con – it has absolutely no smell or taste. While I would love a lovely lavender scent prior to bed, I hate chemically fake smells, so I would prefer nothing over something that makes my head hurt.
